Privacy Policy
Effective Date: Oct 7, 2025
Last Updated: February 20, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Pocket Boss (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your information. This Privacy Policy explains how the App works with your data when you use our project management application (the “App”).
The App enables you to create and manage personal projects, tasks, and other content stored securely on your Apple device and synced through iCloud and CloudKit. We do not collect, store, or access any user content or personal data on our own servers.
By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
2. Data We Do Not Collect
We do not collect or access:
-
Your personal identifiers (such as name, email, or Apple ID)
-
Project content, tasks, notes, files, or attachments
-
Device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data (except as noted in Section 7)
-
User behavior, usage analytics, or tracking data
Your content remains private and under your control at all times.
3. Where Your Data Is Stored
All data created in the App is stored:
-
Locally on your Apple device
-
Securely in your personal iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit
We do not have access to your iCloud data. Apple manages all encryption, authentication, and sync functionality under its iCloud Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
4. Optional Data Sharing
The App allows you to voluntarily share or export your data using:
-
The Apple system share sheet, which may include options to email, print, export to third-party apps, or save to other cloud services
-
Any manual export features (e.g., PDF, text, or markdown export)
All sharing actions are initiated and controlled by you. We do not access or track shared content. If you choose to share your content with third-party apps or services, their respective privacy policies will apply.
5. On-Device AI (Present or Future Use)
Currently, the App does not use artificial intelligence or machine learning to process your content. However, we may introduce Apple’s on-device AI features in the future to enhance user experience — for example, smart project summaries or suggested tags.
If implemented, these features will:
-
Run entirely on-device, without transmitting data externally
-
Use Apple’s system intelligence frameworks, which do not expose your content to third parties
-
Be clearly explained in the App with the ability to opt in or opt out as required
We will update this policy and notify users before enabling any such features.
6. Templates and Design Tools
Some templates in the App may have been originally created or inspired using AI-assisted design tools during development. This is strictly a development-phase design aid and has no effect on how user content is processed.
The App does not use live AI models or cloud-based AI services.
7. Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
What We Collect
To improve app stability and fix technical issues, Pocket Boss uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically collect crash reports and diagnostic information when the app experiences problems. This helps us identify and resolve bugs quickly.
Crash reports may include:
- Device information (model, iOS version, device orientation)
- App version and build number
- Crash stack traces (technical error details)
- Anonymous user identifier (randomly generated, not tied to your identity)
- Timestamp of when the crash occurred
- Free memory and disk space at time of crash
- General usage patterns leading to the crash
Technical context information:
- CloudKit sync state (syncing, idle, error)
- Currently active project ID (anonymized)
- Whether a project is shared (yes/no)
- Error codes and technical diagnostics
What We DO NOT Collect in Crash Reports
Crashlytics is configured with privacy-first principles:
- No personal information – We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or Apple ID
- No user content – We do not collect your project data, financial records, trip details, notes, or any content you create
- No location data – GPS coordinates and trip locations are never included in crash reports
- No photos or attachments – Images, documents, and files you attach to projects are not collected
- No contact information – Client names, phone numbers, and contact details are not included
- No financial data – Income, expenses, invoice amounts, and tax information are not collected
How We Use Crash Data
Crash reports are used exclusively to:
- Identify and fix bugs in the app
- Improve stability and performance
- Prioritize fixes for issues affecting the most users
- Test that updates successfully resolve reported problems
We never:
- Sell crash data to third parties
- Use crash data for marketing or advertising
- Share crash data outside our development team
- Combine crash data with personally identifiable information
Third-Party Service Provider
Crash reports are collected and stored by:
- Service: Firebase Crashlytics (operated by Google LLC)
- Data location: United States (Google Cloud servers)
- Privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Security: Industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest
Firebase Crashlytics is GDPR and CCPA compliant.
Data Retention
- Crash reports are retained for 90 days
- After 90 days, crash data is automatically deleted from Firebase servers
- You can request deletion of your crash data at any time by contacting us
Opting Out of Crash Reporting
Crash reporting is enabled by default to help us improve the app. You can opt out through iOS system settings:
- Open Settings on your device
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Tap Analytics & Improvements
- Toggle off “Share iPhone Analytics”
When disabled, Pocket Boss will not send crash reports or diagnostic data.
Note: Disabling crash reporting means we won’t be able to identify and fix issues affecting your experience.
8. No Age Restrictions
The App is suitable for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect or process any personal data from users of any age. Parents and guardians are encouraged to supervise device and iCloud usage for children.
9. Your Rights and Control
Since we do not collect or process your data directly, we do not hold information subject to deletion, correction, or access requests. You retain full control of your content and may:
- Delete the App to remove all local content
- Manage or delete iCloud-stored content via Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage
- Choose whether or not to use export/share features within the App
- Opt out of crash reporting via iOS system settings
For crash data specifically, under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations, you have the right to:
- Access – Request a copy of any crash data associated with your anonymous identifier
- Deletion – Request deletion of your crash data from Firebase servers
- Portability – Request a machine-readable export of your crash data
- Objection – Opt out of crash reporting via iOS Settings
To exercise these rights regarding crash data, contact us at: [email protected]
10. Legal Basis (Global Compliance)
Even though we do not collect personal data beyond crash diagnostics, we align with major privacy frameworks:
- GDPR (EU/EEA): We are not a data controller or processor of user content. For crash data, we rely on legitimate interest (app improvement) and provide clear opt-out mechanisms.
- CCPA/CPRA (California): We do not “sell” or “share” personal data. Crash data is used solely for technical diagnostics.
- Other Jurisdictions: No user content processing occurs that would require compliance actions under PIPEDA, LGPD, or similar laws.
If additional data processing features are introduced in the future, we will update this policy accordingly.
11. Security
Your data is protected using Apple’s encryption and authentication systems. We do not have access to any encryption keys, iCloud tokens, or account credentials.
Crash reports are transmitted securely to Firebase using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on servers with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27018 certifications.
We strongly recommend that users:
- Protect their Apple ID with two-factor authentication
- Regularly review iCloud settings and device access
- Keep their devices updated and secure
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in law, platform updates, or App functionality. Updates will be posted in the App Store and/or within the App.
If we introduce features that affect how data is handled (e.g., on-device AI or optional sync to third-party platforms), you will be notified and may be asked to opt in.
